WHAT IS Q-GEO?

Q-GEO® IS A SPECIAL POLYAMIDE YARN THAT PROVIDES A COMBINATION OF COMFORT AND PERFORMANCE IN A BIO-BASED FORMULA.

It is a bio-based polyamide yarn obtained from renewable sources and has unique characteristics such as superior moisture management, capable of ensuring high comfort to the wearer. In addition, Q-GEO® is a good flame retardant without the need to add halogenated products. Another special feature is the durability that gives to the garments lasting colour and performance. 

Almost half of the raw material is bio-based, obtained from industrial corn, planted in soils that do not compete with the food production of rice, wheat or other traditional crops . For the bio-based raw material, it is used 40% of the corn kernel and the rest of it is sold for food and feed markets. 
 

PROPERTIES

END USES
A yarn that can be used in all textile applications, it is perfectly workable like a conventional polyamide and can be combined with all fibers.

MOISTURE MANAGEMENT
Q-GEO®’s moisture management properties are 50% greater than conventional polyamide yarns, providing greater comfort.

DURABILITY
Fabrics and clothing made of Q-GEO by Fulgar® offers exceptional abrasion resistance and durability, at the same level as polyamide 6.6, giving consumers a sustainable, long-lasting choice.

LCA

LCA is a process of evaluating the effects that a product has on the environment over the entire period of its life thereby increasing resource-use efficiency and decreasing liabilities. It can be used to study the environmental impact of either a product or the function the product is designed to perform, identifying and quantifying the environmental loads involved; e.g. the energy and raw materials consumed and the emissions generated. Also, evaluating the potential environmental impacts of these loads allow assessing the options available for reducing these environmental impacts.

DIN CERTCO

Q-GEO® by Fulgar is DIN CERTCO certified according to the ASTM D 6866:2022 R.N 8C376 method. DIN CERTCO, a certification office based in Germany, launched its program dedicated to organic products in 2010. In this program it is possible to certify an entire product or specific components. DIN-Geprüft Biobased includes three quality levels that indicate the bio-based content of a product. This indication of the organic content appears on the certification mark together with the DIN-Geprüft Biobased logo and the applicant's registration number.
