Oysho and Fulgar: Innovation and Sustainability with Q-CYCLE® Yarn

Oysho presents its collaboration with BASF and Fulgar. This partnership gives new life to tires that have reached the end of their life cycle, offering an alternative to virgin fossil-based materials through the application of Q-CYCLE® yarn by Fulgar, produced under the mass balance approach. 

The mass balance method is a control system that allows tracking of recycled tires used in the production of this yarn, even when mixed with other raw materials during the process. This ensures that the amount of recycled material used in the garments has been accounted for throughout the entire production chain, contributing to the reduction of virgin raw material usage.

Q-CYCLE® is therefore a 100% recycled polyamide yarn that combines the functional and aesthetic benefits of lightness, strength, and durability in a more sustainable version. Additionally, it offers the excellent properties of polyamide, including breathability, thanks to its superior moisture management performance, keeping the skin cool and dry.

These features make it the ideal choice for Oysho’s compression garments, facilitating the release of water vapor from perspiration to the outside.
